This week allow me to introduce you to the second youngest author of the celebration of Neurodiversity Pride by featuring Indian Autistic writers on my blog - Samyak Sengupta. His book - Fighting Society, is a collection of poems. This ten year old passionate poet uses AAC to share his thoughts with us. He loves his family and is fond of fashion. He dreams of a society where illusions about autism are replaced by respect for diversity.
This short book has poetry in various styles - Haiku, rhyming, alliteration, sonnet and a Hindi poem too! The author dedicates the book to - " The book is solely a gift to my flocks wandering in search of simple joy."
The sheer variety of poems is amazing. I loved his poems on his family members, acknowledging their love and support. My favourite poem is: Happiness, where Samyak writes profound thoughts in a simple, heart touching poem. God bless you dear Samyak, may all your dreams come true!
